The annealing hood is a key component of a bell-type annealing furnace, primarily used for annealing metallic materials.

Structural Composition:
The annealing hood typically consists of an inner hood and a heating hood. The inner hood is a sealed cylindrical enclosure that fits onto the base, completely covering the material to be annealed; its interior space serves as the annealing chamber. The heating hood is a movable outer hood equipped with heating elements and insulating refractory material. During operation, it is attached to the outside of the inner hood to heat it; after annealing, it can be removed. Some annealing hoods also include a cooling hood, which can be replaced after the heating stage, using a forced cooling system to accelerate furnace cooling.
Main Advantages:
The inner hood provides a highly sealed space, resulting in relatively low consumption of protective gas, effectively preventing material oxidation and decarburization, and achieving a bright surface. A single set of equipment can process coils or rolls of different specifications and materials, and allows for easy adjustment of temperature profiles, atmosphere composition, and cooling rates to meet the annealing requirements of various materials, making it suitable for small-batch, multi-variety production. In addition, multiple furnace bases can share one or more movable covers, resulting in a relatively compact footprint and lower initial investment compared to continuous annealing lines.
