⚙️ Material Configuration
2.4879, also designated G-NiCr28W, is classified as a heat-resistant casting alloy. 1.4852, designated GX40NiCrSiNb35-26, is classified as a heat-resistant casting steel under EN 10295.

Using two materials in one furnace-roll assembly allows the roller body, transition sections, and shaft components to be selected according to their different temperature, load, and connection requirements.

The exact position of each material is confirmed according to:

  • Customer drawings
  • Furnace operating temperature
  • Furnace atmosphere
  • Workpiece load
  • Roller speed
  • Bearing and drive arrangement

🏭 Typical Applications
This furnace roll is suitable for:

  • Roller hearth furnaces
  • Continuous annealing lines
  • Normalizing furnaces
  • Quenching and tempering lines
  • Steel plate heat treatment furnaces
  • Tube and pipe heat treatment lines
  • Forging and casting heat treatment equipment
  • High-temperature material conveying systems

It can be used to transport steel plates, pipes, bars, forgings, castings, and other metal workpieces through furnace heating and cooling zones.

✅ Customer-Focused Advantages
Long Hollow Roller Construction
The Ø170 mm hollow roller body reduces unnecessary weight while providing the required conveying structure for long-span furnace applications.

Combined Heat-Resistant Materials
The 2.4879 and 1.4852 material combination can be arranged according to the operating requirements of different roller sections.

Customized Shaft Ends
Bearing seats, keyways, coupling sections, grooves, threads, and stepped shaft structures can be machined according to the equipment drawing.

Controlled Roller Alignment
Straightness, coaxiality, concentricity, and radial runout can be inspected to support stable rotation after installation.

Replacement Manufacturing
FH® Alloy can manufacture replacement furnace rollers from original drawings, used samples, equipment dimensions, or measured roller data.

🛠️ Manufacturing Process
The typical production process includes:

  1. Drawing and operating-condition review
  2. Material confirmation
  3. Roller-body casting
  4. Shaft and end-component production
  5. Rough machining
  6. Roller and shaft assembly
  7. Controlled welding
  8. Straightness correction
  9. Final machining
  10. Inspection and export packing

The manufacturing route may be adjusted according to the roller structure and technical requirements.

🔍 Quality Inspection
Available inspection items include:

  • Chemical composition verification
  • Material certificate and heat-number traceability
  • Outside diameter and wall-thickness inspection
  • Roller-body and overall length measurement
  • Shaft and bearing-seat dimensional inspection
  • Straightness and radial runout inspection
  • Coaxiality and concentricity inspection
  • Weld appearance inspection
  • Dye penetrant testing
  • Ultrasonic testing when applicable
  • Final drawing compliance inspection

Inspection requirements should be specified before order confirmation.
